KENDAL'S 32nd annual community celebration is under way as the town hosts a series of specially-organised activities.
As the second week of Kendal Gathering starts, here is a look at what is still to come in the fortnight of festivities:
The King's Own Royal Border Regiment Association is hosting a social evening tomorrow evening (Saturday) at the Ivy Leaf Club, Kent Street.
On Sunday morning, KORBR's annual parade can be seen in Kendal, followed by a thanksgiving service at the Parish Church, from 11.30am.
Kendal Windows on Art, which showcases artwork in local shops and businesses, is on until September 16 (see Leisure Section, page 7).
Westmorland Horticultural Society's annual Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show will be at The Parish and Kirkland Halls, Kirkland, from September 11 - 12.
The popular K Shoes Male Voice Choir will be performing at Kendal Town Hall on Thursday at 7.30pm (tickets from Kendal Tourist Information Centre).
Rounding off the week is Torchlight Procession Day, a free family-fun day from 10am to 10pm, with the procession kicking off at 7.45pm, from Lound Road, Kendal.
Final Gathering events include fund-raising coffee mornings at Kendal Town Hall on Saturday, September 15, and the Torchlight celebrity charity dinner that night at the Macdonald Riverside Hotel, Kendal.
