LANCASTER University is hosting an open day on Saturday April 13 for people interested in joining the summer college in July.
The Summer College is an intensive five week course for students who have the ability but who think they may need extra preparation to enter higher education.
By teaching study skills and student life skills, the college builds confidence and prepares them for life in higher education.
Co-ordinator June Watson explains: "This is the fifth year we've run this programme and we know we' re onto a winner.
For many students young and mature, the thought of moving into higher education can be daunting.
They worry about whether they will be able to keep up with the work, that they won't fit in or are maybe living away from home for the first time.
Summer College gives them the head start for when the go to higher education in September.
The college is free thanks to Government funding and for more details call Liz Bamford on 592622.
