KENDAL'S Craig Roberts posted a third place at the Rivington Pike Fell Race from Horwich - an event he has won in the past.
Mike Bouldstridge of Birchfield Harriers won the 3.25 mile race, which involves 700ft of climbing, in a time of 16-54 - just over a minute outside the course record set by RAF Cosford's John Wild in 1981.
Pudsey and Bramley's Rob Hope was second in 17-16 and Roberts was 34 seconds behind him.
The first lady was Lisa Heyes, Salford, who clocked 20-52.
There was a field of 225.
