BUILDING a house at Hurrock Wood, Kirkhead Road, Kents Bank, would damage an important open space and the character and appearance of Grange-over-Sands conservation area, concluded a Government planning inspector.

Best appealed against the decision of South Lakeland District Council to refuse planning permission for the single dwelling.
However, inspector Richard Clegg dismissed their appeal.
