TWO goals in two minutes turned the Westmorland Car Sales Senior Cup final in favour of Corinthians FC.
The Milnthorpe side received the trophy after a 3-1 victory over Kendal Town Reserves at Parkside on Tuesday evening.
Corinthians, of the West Lancashire League first division side, were clear favourites to beat their opponents from the third division of the Westmorland League.
In a fast-flowing first half, Corinthians led 1-0 at the interval through a strike by Craig Walmsley, who ironically has been lending his services to Kendal Town's Unibond League team.
Corinthians' experience began to tell over their young rivals and after 68 minutes Jamie Close nodded in a Brian Fleming flick-on from a corner and then Fleming scored with another header from another corner two minutes later.
Battling Town had generally defended with credit and displayed their footballing ability for a well-deserved consolation when Kevin Pickering nipped into the six-yard box to finish off a well-worked passing move two minutes from the end.
