Permission has been granted to install equipment to monitor the water quality on Coniston.
The Lake District National Park Authority has approved plans by the Environment Agency to put in equipment, suspended from a buoy in the lake, to measure the temperature, pH and amount of oxygen in the water every 15 minutes.
