TWO teachers who normally run the fells are pounding roads in preparation for the London Marathon.
The two Lakeside women have been asked to run the event to raise money for their old employees Outward Bound, one of the charities selected to benefit from the April 14 epic.
Clara Fleming, 48, a lecturer in health and social care at Kendal College, said she and her friend Morag McRoberts, 36, a teacher for Barrow and Kendal Referral Units, had agreed to take part in "a moment of madness".
Both are now heavily into training for the 26-and-a-quarter mile slog.
"We've both done quite a bit of fell running and are now having to get our muscles used to running on roads," said Clara.
Each has raised £500 towards their personal targets of £1,000.
