A GOAL from North Ferriby's Rob Dewhurst five minutes from time gave the home side the points on Saturday and increased the pressure on Peter Smith's men at the bottom of the Unibond First Division.
Final score was N Ferriby Utd 2- Kendal Town 1.
With just six games remaining, it would appear seven teams are battling to avoid the bottom two relegation places.
Once again the Kendal players had to face up to yet another narrow away defeat in the candid knowledge that mediocre opposition had beaten them.
But it was their inability to progress from seemingly taking control of games to punishing the opposition, which failed them again.
Playing against a strong first-half wind, the first chance of the game fell to Kendal's James Shepherd.
He was unfortunate to see his shot rattle the crossbar after just eight minutes.
Shortly afterwards the home side's Nathan Stead almost opened the scoring, but Kendal captain Dave Burrow cleared the ball off the goal-line.
On 11 minutes, North Ferriby full back Price unleashed a wind-assisted drive from 30 yards, which Lee Ward had to watch carefully before tipping over.
But just a minute later a momentary lapse of concentration in the Town defence left Steve Perrin with a free header which he successfully, if not convincingly, headed past Ward to make it 1-0 to the East Riding side.
David Foster levelled the scores on 39 minutes with a well-taken goal.
Beating the advancing keeper in a race to the ball, he nonchalantly lifted the ball over him and found the unguarded net.
Early in the second half, Stuart Cliff tested Sharp with a curling free kick, but at the other end Vill Powell should have put his side in front but shot over from close range.
Kendal were struggling to use the strong tailwind to their own advantage with half-time substitute Dew-hurst dominant in the air.
Chris Park got behind the Ferriby defence on 73 minutes, but Shepherd miscontrolled his inch-perfect cross with the goal at his mercy.
Then five minutes from the end Dewhurst converted a hotly-disputed free kick to make it 2-1.
There was still time for another Kendal chance but having beaten the offside trap, Ian Lunt could do no better than head tamely into the arms of Sharp.
