A SOCIETY in Arnside, which seeks to protect the environment of the village, may have to fold if a secretary cannot be found to help run the organisation.
The Arnside Village Society has been operating since 1986, and was formed so that members could look at planning applications.
They also wanted to try to prevent development not suited to the Arnside/Silverdale Area of Out-standing Natural Beauty, or the village.
The current secretary, Len Hatherly, is to resign.
Chairman Dennis Bradbury said: "It was formed really to keep an eye on development, and we are trying to uphold the tenets of the county plans and local plans.
"We need somebody who is interested in planning, and interested in taking that up."
The secretary's role includes looking at the planning applications for the Arnside area.
A nomination is needed in time for the annual meeting, on April 26, at 7.30pm in the WI Hall.
Anyone who wants to apply should contact Mr Bradbury on 01524-761934 or Mr Hatherly on 01524-761509.
