EQUIPMENT totalling £9,000 was presented to the Coronary Care Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary by Heart Concern, the local heart support group, this week.
Heart Concern are a group based in the Lancaster and Morecambe area who offer support to people with heart disease and also raise money to buy equipment for the coronary care unit at the infirmary.
The figure included donations from the Morecambe Bay Traction Engine Club (£3,500 presented by Doug and Lynda Wilson in memory of the late Rex Scott) and £1,200 raised by Simon Duckett, Guy Kirkley and Nigel Berry who cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats.
Equipment donated included six heart pacing boxes and fax machine.
