A MISSING flag on a post in Windermere, which could not mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, triggered a protest.
"We have a flag mast in the library grounds and no flag.
I think it is a disgrace," said Windermere parish councillor Arthur Astle.
It was unclear which local authority was responsible for the post, but Coun Astle said if funds were short, the parish council should have bought a new flag.
"It's a disgrace and it comes back on us because it is in our patch." "We would like one for the Jubilee," added Coun Joan Stocker while Coun Yvonne Stewart-Taylor stressed: "We should have had one at half-mast this week." Chairman Richard Ogden said the issue would be on the next meeting's agenda for further discussion.
