REVISED proposals for an extension to the amusement arcade at the Aquarius on Glebe Road, Bowness, have been given the go-ahead by Lake District planners.
Last June, planning permission was refused for a conservatory-style extension to the front of the arcade on the grounds that the design and materials would not be in keeping with the existing building.
An amended application by Scott Albion Properties Ltd was for a similar 20-square metre extension, but included a hipped roof with slates to match the existing building.
Planning officers concluded the revised design scheme was an improvement, and recommended approval of the scheme.
Permission was granted on the condition that double-glazing and self-closing doors were installed to reduce any potential noise disturbance, and that smoked glass was used to obscure views of the machines and lights.
