SHOPPERS and tourists in Arnside will be able to take advantage of a Shopmobility scooter to help them get around the village.
The scooter has been funded by Bela Lodge Freemasons and will be based at the Albion Hotel.
It is available on free loan for anyone who has difficulty walking.
There is no need to be registered disabled.
Kendal and South Lakes Shopmobility project development officer Pam Flitcroft said: "We are very grateful to the Bela Lodge Freemasons for funding this scooter and to the Albion Hotel for kindly agreeing to manage the scheme.
The Shopmobility service is already very popular in Kendal and at Levens Hall, Holker Hall, Aquarium of the Lakes and Bowness.
"We are glad to be able to extend the service to Arnside."
Shopmobility chairman Harry Marston said they would be happy to hear from residents who would be willing to help out when needed or who could do some fund-raising.
To register to use the scooter, take along some ID with a name and address to the Albion Hotel.
