HUSH have sealed their lips and silenced their speakers.

The Kendal band are sitting on a six-month-old secret.

What It's All About - the group's all-original debut album - is due to be launched next month at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, on May 4.

Despite the months of frantic activity, during which time ten new tracks were recorded at odd hours of the night as the bands four members flitted to and from work, the final product is still under wraps.

The launch will feature a live performance from the four-piece who formed in October 2000 and the much-vaunted debut album's first public performance.

The Kendal-based band's compelling sound accompanied by the raw inspiration of front man Fergus Wade should make it a night worth turning out for.

You will also be able to see close ups of the band banging out the tunes from their latest album projected onto a big screen.

The performance will big step for a group who started out life doing rock covers.

Guitarist and backing vocalist Roger Cairns said the CD had been worth the slog.

"We are delighted with it.

We wouldn't release it if we didn't like it.

But it will be strange, hardly anybody has heard it.

We wanted to keep it that way until the launch."

Hush, who also include Steve Martin on bass guitar and backing vocals and John Fearon, drums, have known each other for nine years and it shows.

They are as comfortable hurling half-insults at one another as they are sitting down and writing music.

Roger said:"We just want to enjoy it for the moment.

Getting a CD together is something we all wanted to do and we have had such good fun doing it.

We want to take it as it comes and get out performing again."

John said: "Last week was brilliant.

We had recorded our parts separately so the first rehearsal was the first time we had played our own stuff together and it was amazing, we were just ripping into them."

The band who's songs can also be heard on local radio have found harmony in their music despite the differing musical preference of their members.

If you want to know what its all about, tickets are available at £2.50 from the Moshulu shop 38 Market Place, Kendal, or e-mail at www.hushentertainment.co.uk.
