FURNESS Youth Theatre presents Oliver, Lionel Bart's classic musical of the boy who asked for more, at Barrow's Forum 28 from Wednesday to Saturday next week.
Seventy young people aged eight to 18 play the orphans and low-life characters of Charles Dickens's tale, with ten-year-old Luke Mooney in the title role.
Luke is already an experienced actor and played the mischievous lost boy Curly in Peter Pan at Ulverston's Coronation Hall last Christmas.
Craig Kinley, 17, who was the Prime Minister in To Death and Glory at Forum 28 last year, takes the part of thief-master Fagin; and the Artful Dodger is played by Jordan Smith, who is one of the members of FYT who have been selected to perform in National Youth Theatre productions.
The musical features many popular tunes such as Food, Glorious Food and As Long as He Needs Me, and is directed by Chris Loveless, with musical director Paul Bryden and choreographer Elaine Stables.
Tickets 01229-820000.
