THOUGHTS of new clothes, meals out and treats were in store at Kendal's Morrisons supermarket as 161 staff learned they had earned a stake in a profit share scheme.
Record breaking sales at the supermarket chain triggered the record £12.5 million pay-out nationwide.
Around 26,400 of the company's 43,000 employees will gain the equivalent of around two weeks extra pay each.
All staff who have been with the company since April last year will automatically qualify for the scheme.
Kendal branch general manager David Warhurst said: "It has put a smile on the faces of many staff here in the Kendal store."
All those who took part in this year's profit share will be invited to buy shares in the company at a discounted price in the future.
