A MAN from Salford was found dead in his car at Tilberthwaite, near Coniston late last week.
The 55-year-old was spotted by a passerby at 4pm who called Windermere police who found him in a Citroen Van parked near the old quarry
He was certified dead by a doctor at the scene and police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
Cumbria Police spokesman Mike Smith said the man had been reported missing from his home in Greater Manchester.
Furness and District coroner Ian Smith has been informed.
