SIR, I would like to bring certain postcards to your attention, as I'm sure the people mentioned below will not do so!
The postcards were delivered to every household in Ireland; it was then left to individuals to sign and post the cards on to Tony Blair.
Further cards could be purchased to send on to Prince Charles and Norman Askew, the proceeds of which go to the Chernobyl Children's Project.
The object of the cards is to bring to the attention of the recipients that Ireland is opposed to Sellafield and as a nuclear-free country is calling for the plant to be closed.
I wonder if your readers are aware of the devastating effects Sellafield would have on Ireland, either from an accident (remember Chernobyl?) or the risk of a terrorist attack?
I'm hoping you could bring this campaign to your readers' notice - surely if a whole country is concerned by this problem it will be of interest to the residents of Cumbria?
