BUDDING Michael Owen's and David Beckham wannabes among Kirkby Stephen's Under-10s football team now look the part after being awarded a new kit by the Co-operative Insurance Society.
The firm runs a Kits For Kids scheme that offers its 4.5 million customers and 12,000 staff the chance to nominate a children's team to win 14 full strips, including jerseys, socks and shorts.
CIS customer Gordon Dargue, who chose Kirkby Stephen's team, said: "The team are delighted with their new kit.
It's our policy not to charge any money to the players and their parents for playing with the team, so a donation like this is great.
Receiving the CIS strip has been a fantastic boost."
