WYNFORD Evans, regarded as one of Britain's foremost tenors, is appearing in two concerts at St Thomas's Church, Milnthorpe, next week.
Wynford - who has performed with many of the country's leading orchestras and choruses and toured the world - performs on Tuesday, May 7 (7.30pm) with Arnside Choral Society; Brian Lancaster (bass); plus organist Adrian Self in a programme featuring English church music including Stainer's Crucifixion.
The night after (Wednesday, 7.30pm) the regular TV and radio performer teams up again with his former mentor and Arnside Choral Society conductor, pianist Glyn Hopkins in The Musical World of Wynford Evans, performing songs from opera, musicals, Gilbert and Sullivan and popular ballads.
In the first half of the concert they perform Schumann's Dichterliebe.
Tickets are £5 for each concert with a combined ticket for both events £8, available from choir members, at church, or Milnthorpe Printers.
Both concerts are in aid of the church restoration fund.
