OLD Time Music Hall comes to the region courtesy of Burneside Amateur Theatrical Society on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 9-11 (7.30-pm).
Producer Steve Hall told me that at its peak music hall was the TV of its day with hundreds operating in London alone: " Stars such as the suggestive Marie Lloyd were enormously popular in a way it is hard to believe now.
"My intention is to re-create those 'good old days' where the audience is positively encouraged to join in with their favourite songs and performers, while the worthy chairman keeps order with the aid of his gavel.
"People will either know what to expect or have no idea what's happening, but either way they won't be disappointed."
Tickets are £5 / concessions £4 / children £3, available from Velma Giraldo on 01539-720498.
