KENDAL CC progressed in the Play-Cricket.com National Clubs Knockout competition on faster scoring-rate after rain curtailed play against Wythenshawe in Greater Manchester on Sunday.
Opener Simon Little was the mainstay of Kendal's innings, hitting 74 out of a score of 176 for seven with three sixes and six fours.
Little put on a century stand for the first wicket with newcomer Martin South, who made 34.
Skipper David Fallows with 24 and Terry Hunte, 23, were the other main contributors with three stoppages for rain during the innings.
A sporting Wythenshawe side struggled to make inroads into the target and stood at 55 for six when rain finally prevented further play after 23 overs.
Opening bowlers Kevin Howarth and Adrian Potts grabbed a couple of wickets apiece to start the rot.
Kendal won by virtue of a faster scoring-rate after the regulation 20 overs, having made 101 while their opponents had reached only 44.
The competition' s next round takes them to either Kearsley or Formby, but very few ties were completed in the wet weather.
n Netherfield travelled to Chorley but failed to get a start and will try again this Sunday.
