PLANS by mobile phone giant Vodafone Ltd to build a 12-metre tele-communications mast with equipment cabin within Dandra Garth Forestry's commercial larch plantation at Garsdale East were approved by Yorkshire Dales planners.
In a report, the national park authority's planning committee heard three letters of objection had been received.
Objectors were concerned the trellis mast would be out of keeping with the natural beauty of the park.
However, deputy head of planning Andrew McCullagh reported that the light structure of the mast and its location within the plantation should ensure it would be "very inconspicuous" when seen from the A684, provided the mast was painted adequately.
He said the mast would be remote from housing.
