Preparations are being made in Ulverston for this year's flag festival - which looks set to be bigger and better than last year.
During the last two weeks, workshops have been held at St Mary's Catholic School, Croftlands Junior and Infant Schools in Ulverston.
Artist Jasmine Jones, from Welfare State International, has been helping the youngsters to design and make their own flags for the festival.
The flags will be paraded through the town on Thursday, May 30, setting off from the Coronation Hall at 1.30pm.
They will be led by Ulverston's own street band, Blast Furnace.
Many businesses have also agreed to take part in this year's festival by displaying a flag outside their shops during the fourth flag fortnight, which will be launched on Saturday, May 18.
One of the committee members Liz Drew said: "We have had lots more people agree to fly flags this year on top of the 70 we already have each year.
More people who live in houses near the town centre are also going to put up a flag.
"The festival was set up for people to celebrate being an Ulverstonian.
The flags brighten the place up and get everyone in a good mood for the summer."
