KENDAL Town slammed in another four goals on Saturday to keep themselves riding high in the UniBond League First Division - not a bad start for a side which only escaped relegation by default last season.
Final score was Kendal Town 4, Trafford 1.
Trafford looked like a team disrupted by changes during the close season and it was no great surprise when Kendal took the lead in the 8th minute Craig Walmsley burying a loose ball in the net.
In the 32nd minute Trafford produced a bizarre equalised when Andy Morris' poorly-hit 25-yard free-kick bounced around eight times before sneaking in at the right hand post.
Just before half time Kendal restored their lead when Jamie Close floated long free-kick over the defence and Phil Hodgson ran in to ram it home.
Six minutes into the second half Kendal doubled their lead when Shepherd's corner kick fell perfectly for Richard Close to put the ball well beyond the reach of Burke.
In the 55th minute it was game over as Jamie Close supplied a pin-point cross for Walmsley to volley home.
Victory sets Kendal up for a home fixture with Guisley today.
Kick-off 7:45pm.
