WINDERMERE Golf Club hosts its premier event of the season, the Rayrigg Motors Lakes Classic this weekend when in-form Phil Archer is touted as the man to watch.
After taking this year's PGA North Region programme by storm, the 30-year-old Birchwood professional will be hoping to scoop the Lakes prize on the way to regaining his European Tour card.
He shared this prize last year with Neil Price but has been unstoppable lately, scooping £20,000 in prizemoney in three weeks.
The action takes place on Saturday and Sunday with South Lakeland professionals Windermere's Steve Rooke, Kendal's Peter Scott and Grange's Andrew Pickering hoping to put their local knowledge to good use.
