Rod Berry said: "Plenty of sun allowed runners to enjoy the spectacular views and the personal challenge of tackling a unique race and course."
Scottish veteran Terry Coyle held off Radcliffe's Peter Bates to complete a hat-trick of wins in the marathon in 2hr 57min 20sec.
Paul Muller, who runs for Horwich AC, won the half-marathon for the fourth consecutive year in 1hr 15min 28sec.
