THE Brewery Theatre Company's latest production promises to be a real cracker.
A mixture of Regency comedy drama and modern detective thriller, BTC is pulling out all the stops staging Tom Stoppard's brilliant and intellectually challenging Arcadia next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (September 18-20, 8pm).
In the hands of eminent Lancaster director Alan Mathews, the play's action takes place in a room at Sidley Park, Derbyshire, switching between 1809-1812 and present day; two very different groups of people separated by the centuries but sharing similar things at the country estate.
The tension rises as a mystery unravels.
Kerry Bracken plays Thomasina Coverly, Bryan Wood makes a welcome return to the Brewery stage as Bernard Nightingale, and Rosie Wates (famed as Mrs Malaprop) is author Hannah Jarvis, all part of a strong cast, which also includes Kate Vernon, Jane Vicary, Denis Bland, David Mitchelson and more.
