Glen Russell gave away a

13-point start to Liberals captain Dave Britten but ran away with the opener for a 67-30 win.

Liberals came back through Martin Calvert when he conceded a 36-point start to Chris Duxbury and won 70-55.

Adrian Ediss made it

2-1 for Liberals after compiling a 26 break against last year's aggregate winner Rob Hockham, who lost 60-37.

A Carnforth comeback captured the next two frames with wins for Col Nicholson and Brian Woodruff.

Nicholson beat Alan Richardson on the black after a 27 break, while Woodruff comfortably beat Andrew Blenkharn 64-24.

It was left to Liberals' Mick Stevenson secure a 3-3 draw when a 30 break helped him defeat Conrad Taylor.

Bridge came away from Ravenstown with a 4-2 victory, their man of the match being Tony Bland who made a 37 break in his victory over Ian Simon.

Further wins for Bridge from Sean O'Sullivan, Brian Mackereth and Miek Taylor built up a 4-0 lead before P.

Pugh put Ravenstown on the scoresheet with a comfortable win over Lee Burrow.
