STUDENT Lorna Kelly, 18, will bid for the inaugural Audi Design Foundation national young designer of the year title with her design for a travel hairdryer this weekend.
Lorna, who attends Ripley St Thomas High School in Lancaster, qualified for the prestigious final by winning a regional heat staged at the Hadwins Audi dealership in Grange-over-Sands.
She will be among 28 second-year A-level design and technology students having their projects judged at the Baltic Contemporary Arts Centre in Gateshead tomorrow (Saturday, September 21).
