KISS the summer goodbye in style this weekend with a dose of acid jazz.
Between yesterday (Thursday) and Sunday, the streets of Lancaster will be awash with music as part of the city's annual jazz festival.
Appearing in a line-up which includes swing jazz bands, local jazz bands and even a 30-piece jazz orchestra iO, are acid jazz group Jinrai.
The eight-member group are fresh from a heady season of live performances including The Summer Sundae Festival at Leicester, where they joined artists such as Beth Orton, Corner Shop, Stereo MC's, Lamb, Kosheen and David Byrne.
Hotly-tipped for greater things, the group have just confirmed a London date where the will be supporting Mexican band Los de Abajo at the brand new Marquee Club in Islington.
Although signed to Acid Jazz Records, the group are keen not to be pigeon-holed and stress the timeless quality of their songs which, coupled with a strong range of music styles puts them above the fleeting trends of the pop market.
Their live performance is a must see, if for nothing other than the multi-instrumental antics of their eight members.
Jinrai play the Lancaster Jazz Festival tomorrow (Saturday) on the Market Square Stage at 2.40pm.
There is no entry charge.
Jinrai's long awaited second single Can I be your man?' has finally been released.
The single features four tracks including
two remixes alongside the title track and the jazz tinged Constant Music.
