Food from Britain is to sponsor three local producers at the forthcoming Salone del Gusto, in Turin, Italy.
Representing the North West will be Peter Gott of Sillfield Farm, Endmoor, wild boar and rare breed pig farmer, and founder of the region's Slow Food movement, a body dedicated to our food traditions; butcher Andrew Sharp, the Furness master butcher who represents 27 co-operating Lakeland farmers, their mission to raise the best quality meat and sell it directly to the public; and David Kitson, of Farmhouse Direct, at Bleasdale Fell, in the Trough of Bowland, which supplies a range of traditional meats and speciality foods via its on-line 'store' and home delivery scheme.
