FUN-SEEKERS keen to dabble in circus tricks and the odd round of "juggling gladiators" can embark on a new course for adult learners.
Jem Hulbert, of the Fairly Famous Family, is staging nine sessions for beginners and those keen to improve their skills every Wednesday from September 25 at the Kelsick Centre in Ambleside from 7pm until 9pm.
Mr Hulbert, whose company has been 'in action' for about 15 years, said he had run similar courses in Norfolk, Ulverston and Kendal, which had always proved a hit.
Students will be able to try their hand at tricks such as juggling, diabolos - throwing and catching a spinning top on a cord fastened to two hand-held sticks - plate-spinning and unicycling.
The course will be a mixture of demonstrations, coaching and free practice.
"We can cope with anyone and help at any level.
It is a beginners' course, but for anyone really who wants to improve their juggling," he said.
Participants' level of proficiency by the end of the course will depend on how much 'home work' they do, while there could be the potential for students to put on a small show of their newfound skills.
Mr Hulbert was confident the course would attract people from throughout the community, but said places were limited.
Equipment will be provided, and students - who must be at least 16 - are asked to wear loose fitting clothing for the sessions.
The course costs £36 with concessionary rates.
