A DANCE school, which has attracted more than 80 pupils since opening last November, has been celebrating the achievements of its students.
Members of the Silver Web Academy of Dance, which is based at Windermere's Phoenix Centre, have been taking classes in Royal Academy ballet, jazz, boys only jazz and beginners' movement and dance.
A number of students have successfully passed examinations with "excellent results" after being assessed by a London-based examiner.
Dawn Burgess, of Quarry Brow, Bowness, is the school principal, and is a registered graduate of the Royal Academy of Dance in London as well as working in the UK, Australia and Norway.
Among the successes were Emma Lowe, 13, who achieved a distinction in grade three ballet; Kirsty Brooksbank, who secured a commended at the same level while Caitlin Heatley and Lucy Skilling, both 14, were awarded merits.
