THERE is still time for volunteers to sign up for this weekend's Beachwatch, the Marine Conservation Society's annual nationwide war on litter on beaches.
Cumbrian beaches taking part in the clean-up include Flimby (contact Helen Lord of Soroptimists International on 01900-826274) and South Walney Nature Reserve West Shore (contact Mick Venters of Cumbria Wildlife Trust on 01229-471066), both on Sunday.
To find out more about other beaches taking part, call the Marine Conservation Society on 01989-567807/566017 or e-mail beachwatch@mcsuk.org
