NATIONAL media interest will be focused on Coniston again next month when the inquest into the death of legendary speed ace Donald Campbell is held at John Ruskin School on Friday, October 25.
Campbell lost his life when his jet powered Bluebird boat crashed on the lake in January 1967 as he was attempting to break his own world water speed record.
Last year Newcastle-based diving enthusiast Bill Smith recovered the wreckage of the Bluebird and later salvaged the remains of Campbell's body.
The inquest was opened at Barrow Town Hall in August last year to allow burial to take place.
