ARTISTS from Appleby are among those lending their support to a campaign to turn a special Cumbrian school into a specialist arts centre.
John Sibson, Lorna Graves, Diane Taylor and Alan Thompson - all internationally-renowned artists living locally - are among those to donate paintings, prints and photographs and sculptures to a sale being held in Tullie House Museum, Carlisle, on Friday, September 20.
The sale is in aid of the James Rennie School, which needs to raise £50,000 before the Department for Education and Science will consider its application for arts status.
