AFTER a run-out with the Seconds last weekend, hooker Ian Gowing is named in Kendal's First XV squad to travel to Esher in Surrey in National League 2 on Saturday.

Disc trouble in his back has prevented Gowing from starting so far this season, but he came through his first full match this without problems and displaces Duncan Green.

Dan Stephens returns at full back after missing last week following a concussion injury at Launceston, and that allows Steve Healey to return in the centre, ousting Duncan Rose, who is named among the replacements.

After a tardy start in which Esher lost to Henley and Penzance & Newlyn, they are looking for a third successive win after beating Fylde 21-20 and Launceston 41-23.

Kendla's next home match is on Saturday week when they meet Darlington Mowden Park in the third round of the Powergen Cup at Mint Bridge (3pm kick-off).
