Council officers are putting the finishing touches to a bid for funding to enable a project officer to be taken on to revitalise the market towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness.
Windermere Parish Council chairman Adrian Faulkner reported that a report had been submitted to the Countryside Agency by the Lakes Market Towns Partnership to secure £15,000 per year for the next three years to appoint a project officer.
He said the bid had been sent back for some minor adjustments, and was being worked on by South Lakeland District Council officers.
