SINGING and dancing youngsters in Ulverston are wanted to star in a Christmas pantomime.
Kay Perie has been running a new drama class, Acting Up, in Dale Street Community Centre in the town for 20 weeks.
She is now recruiting youngsters, aged between seven and 16-years-old, to take part in a pantomime being staged in the Coronation Hall in December.
Mrs Perie already has about 16 youngsters signed up for her classes held on Saturday mornings, but she is hoping to attract more.
She is also holding auditions on Saturday, starting at 10am, for the pantomime in the community centre.
She said: "I need about 16 youngsters to fill the main parts in the pantomime but I am hoping to get more at the weekly class so I can be a little bit more choosy, as I need some who can dance and others who can sing.
"The pantomime is an original that my mum has written and it incorporates bits from Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs."
The drama class is split into two age groups - seven to 11-year-olds can attend between 10am and 11am, and 12 to 16-year-olds from 11am to midday.
Each class costs £2.50.
"I will take youngsters that are a little older than 16 if they want to take part in the pantomime.
I am also looking for volunteers to help with the stage designs and set-making," said Mrs Perie.
People who are unable to make the auditions on Saturday can just turn up at the classes or can contact Mrs Perie on 01229-466724.
