THE Archbishop of York David Hope is set to visit one of South Lakeland's most historic churches on Sunday.
Hundreds of worshipers are expected to attend services at Cartmel Priory when Dr Hope preaches at the place of worship as part of a day-long celebration of the festival of St Michael - one of the patron saints of the priory.
Dr Hope will preach at both evensong at 3.30pm and the morning service, at 10.45am.
Evensong will be a team service including all parishes of the Cartmel Peninsula Team Ministry and is likely to be attended by more than 250 worshipers.
A buffet luinch will be served at noon.
