A CHARITY which works with people with sight problems is keen to get the message across about the importance of regular eye health checks.
Volunteers and staff form the south Lakeland Voluntary Society for the Blind will be in the Westmorland Shopping Centre in Kendal on Saturday, October 5, providing shoppers with eye health information and advice.
Resources and information co-ordinator Margaret McClure said: "Many thousands of people in the UK have an eye disease but don't know it.
By the time people notice that their sight is affected it could be too late to save all of their sight."
