ENVIRONMENTALLY-aware youngsters at Sedbergh Primary School have been finding out all about butterflies.
In recent weeks, pupils aged 7-11 have been listing and counting the types and numbers of butterflies in and around the town, making models, and learning about the origins and behaviour of butterflies.
And their hard work has paid off, as the school was one of the first to achieve the wildlife rangers yellow badge award, organised by Cumbria Wildlife Trust in conjunction with the Skelwith Fold Caravan Park.
Education office at the trust Rachel Osborn said the award scheme helped make children aware of the wildlife and environment around them.
The school is now planning to start working towards the wildlife rangers green award.
