Banco De Gaia's sound emporium features prog rock, global fusion, techno, dub, breaks, pop and metal.
There is no conflict as far as Banco is concerned - music is music - but this defies categorisation and he doesn't sit comfortably inside any one genre.
There's too many guitars and ethno samples for dance music and too much 'electronica' for the indie/rockers.
But this double album has plenty of pearls for anyone who likes exotic and atmospheric low tempo grooves.
'Last Train To Lhasa,' and the Jack Dangers mix of 'How Much Reality,' are two of Banco's most well known tunes but listen out also for Desert Wind and Celestine, featuring 'Dark Side Of The Moon' saxophonist Dick Parry.
An impressive back catalogue from a true world musician.
