JUST 11-year-old yet lapping the circuits at over 70mph on his Aprilia 125, Joel Noon has already set his sights on being a World Superbike star of the future.
Joel, of High Reston farm, Ings, started in Motocross at the age of six and during the past five years he has won 150 trophies and is currently the North of England 85cc champion.
Now he has swapped the rough riding of motocross for road racing, although 'roads' will have to remain circuits like Oulton Park and Crofts for the next five years until he is old enough for a driving licence.
During the past few months he has been adapting to the change necessary to compete in the Aprilia Superteen Challenge and average speeds of over 70mph have shown that he is already not far off the pace of the considerably older teenagers at the top of the field, who lap at around 75mph.
A pupil at The Lakes School, Joel says his ambition is to emulate the success of Kendal brothers James and Dean Ellison at the highest levels of Supersport and Superbike racing.
