HAVING been given a bye in the preliminary round of the FA Trophy Kendal Town had not match on Saturday, but it gave Peter Smith's team time a few days rest in which to contemplate their entry into the Trophy away to Gainsborough Trinity on November 2 and the more immediate task of getting their UniBond League First Division campaign back on track.
Smith was bitterly disappointed with last Tuesday's 5-0 hammering by Chorley and warned players that their shirts could rest on the outcome of tomorrow (Tuesday) night's home game with Farlsey Celtic.
Despite last week's hiccups, Town are still enjoying their best UniBond start for 15 years and are fifth in the table.
Their 18 points from 10 games is better than their total by mid-January last season.
Mid-table Farsley could provide an indication as to whether Town do have the credentials to remain promotion contender for the rest of the season.
Kick-off at Parkside is at 7.45pm.
