ARTISTIC people of all ages are being given the opportunity to attempt to break a world record in Ulverston.
To mark National Drawing Day on Saturday, October 19, Welfare State International in Ulverston has organised an event called, Big Draw.
The idea of the event is to get as many people as possible at Bardsea Beach at 11am.
Each will be given a piece of paper and when the clock strikes midday everyone will be expected to start drawing.
Anthea Rathlin-Jones from Welfare State hopes enough people will take part in the event at midday to break a world record.
She said: "The event is open to anyone of any age but I do need people to let me know if they plan to come along as I need to know how many pieces of paper I will need."
After the record-breaking attempt people can then have fun by helping to create a giant map of Ulverston in the sand.
People will be able to use sand, shingle and stone to draw with.
Anyone who wants to take part in the record breaking attempt can contact Welfare State International on 01229 581127.
