A Kendal charity is appealing for a seamstress to come forward and give their balding Rudolph a makeover.
Kendal Lions are looking for a nimble-fingered man or woman to make their thinning Rudolph a new coat.
After 15-years of festive crowd-pleasing, the Santa sleigh which tours the town' s housing estates and makes static appearances in Elephant Yard to the delight of hundreds of children each December has become "slightly shabby."
This year the super-safe float has been given an overhaul by Lion president Phillip Ball and fellow Lion Charles Cooper.
The gleaming float now comes complete with seat belt and safety bar, new lights and a new paint job - all of which is showing up the aging reindeer.
Mr Ball is desperate to see the reindeer restored to its former glory in time for his December debut at Elephant Yard, Kendal.
"He is a very old reindeer and it is about time he had a new fur coat.
We desperately need someone who has the time and skill to make him over.
We really need help and he could do with a bit of warmth during the winter!"
Anyone who can help to spruce up a dulling reindeer should contact Lion Charles Cooper on 01539-720953.
