"INSPIRED programming inspirational theatre," that's what The Dukes marketing and publicity guru Bridget Halldearn thinks of the ever-popular Lancaster venue's sizzling new season.
"We'll be breaking with tradition and putting on two plays in repertoire, Educating Rita by Willy Russell and Oleanna by David Mamet, both staged in the studio. This performance space always offers a really different night in the theatre - both intimate and stimulating.
"Without doubt, these two fine plays can be enjoyed independently in their own right but by presenting them in repertoire audiences will be able to watch them both and appreciate the fascinating comparisons.
"There's even an opportunity to see them both in one evening!
"The open-air production in Williamson Park is Grimm Tales adapted by Carol Ann Duffy.
"Old familiar stories presented in the wonderful leafy woodland setting of the park. Areas of the park that haven't been used in years will be perfect for some of the tales and right up the street of those who like the promenading aspect of the evening!"
As well as the above, Bridget tell me there's plenty of top class touring shows from top class theatre companies: The box office number is 01524-598500.
