TOURISTS from across the country are being tempted to visit Lancaster and Morecambe by an all new 2003 holiday guide.
The glossy brochure is now available from Tourist Information Centres nationwide offering a comprehensive free guide for holidaymakers wanting to dis-cover the area.
From the seaside resort of Morecambe and its famous Eric Morecambe statue, to the historic city of Lancaster and the beauty of the Lune Valley, the guide encompasses city, coast and countryside.
It also includes up-to-date details of a wide variety of accredited places to stay, together with listings of where to eat and drink, as well as the whole range of events taking place throughout the year and, of course, local attractions.
Suzi Williams, Lancaster City Council's senior tourism marketing officer, says: "The guide is a hugely important tool in marketing the area to people outside of the district and indeed outside of the country.
"Literally thousands of visitors are expected to come to the area as a result of picking up this guide in tourist information centres throughout the country or on the website. It is also being advertised in the national press."
Cllr James Airey, city council cabinet member with respon-sibility for regeneration, adds: "This year's guide is absolutely fantastic and really does encapsulate the true diversity of the district. What stands out is not only how much there is to do in the area but how close at hand all the different attractions are for the visitors it will feel like they are getting three holidays in one!"
Anyone wanting a copy of the newly published holiday guide will find it at all local Tourist Information Centres.
